The Coalition to Diversify Computing (CDC), a joint organization of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the Computing Research Association (CRA), and the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS); the Center for Minorities and People with Disabilities in IT (CMD-IT); Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI); and the Alliance for Access to Computing Careers (AccessComputing) are organizing the fourth annual Academic Workshop for Underrepresented Ethnic Minorities and People with Disabilities with funding from NSF to cover participant travel, lodging, and meeting logistics.

This summer tutorial workshop is being sponsored by the National Computational Science Institute (NCSI) with support from TeraGrid, Blue Waters, the SC 2011 conference's Education Program, and other organizations.

North Carolina A&T State University is pleased to announce the mini DOD computational science and engineering (CSE) and high performance computing (HPC) faculty training workshop for faculty members from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and other MSI in Puerto Rico

The CDC and CMD-IT Academic Careers Workshops provide unique, tailored experiences for underrepresented ethnic minorities and people with disabilities at the level of an assistant professor, associate professor and senior doctoral student. The goal of the workshop is to mentor the targeted groups about the academic career ladder. *Application Deadline: Jan. 15, 2010.

This two-day workshop will focus on the mentoring and professional development of minority undergraduate Engineering students.

The purpose of the workshop is to help students understand the benefits of going to graduate school and obtaining full funding.

The CRA-W Workshop on Research Career Mentoring for Women in Computer Science and Engineering (CMW-R/CMW-L) will provide mentoring activities targeting women senior graduate students and women just starting as industrial researchers or professors.

This workshop provides a unique opportunity for prospective women faculty to learn from faculty leaders across science, engineering, and psychology.

The GreenLight Project Education & Outreach Summer Workshop, in collaboration with Global CyberBridges (GCB), will be held on June 30-July 2, 2009 in San Diego, California. The GCB international program is comprised of a series of geographically distributed projects each supported for a one year period with the goal of having the graduate students and their faculty advisors adopt longer term collaborative strategies.

The 2009 Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference is now accepting proposals for papers, panels, workshops, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, posters, the Robotics Competition, and the Doctoral Consortium. The conference brings together diverse leading researchers from around the world to present their work on state-of-the-art research in the field of computing. The 2009 event, the fifth in the series, will take place April 1-4, 2009 at the Portland, Oregon Marriott Downtown Waterfront.
