2009 CAHSI Annual Meeting

We were pleased to meet this year for CAHSI's 3rd Annual Meeting, January 15th-18th, 2009 at the Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California. The theme of this year’s meeting was: Developing the Next Generation of Leaders through Mentoring.

"New Image of Computing" Interviews:

An initiative organized through the ACM and WGBH, titled “ The New Image of Computing” is centered on reshaping the general view of computing and computer related fields to todays teens.

During the CAHSI 3rd Annual Meeting, a panel-based workshop was held for undergraduate attendees entitled, “Reshape the Image of Computing”. The participating students were asked to discuss slogans produced for this effort. The following interviews reflect the opinions of some of the students who participated.

The student panelists who helped conduct the "Reshaping the Image of Computing" student workshop were interviewed. They discuss their motivations to stay in computing and how we can effectively inspire our youth to want to be involved.
